I currently capture to an mjpeg avi from my cable TV box. I would like to convert this to a DivX 5.1.1 file. I would like to be able to watch it on either my computer monitor or to my NTSC television (not pregressive).
Should I encode interlaced or deinterlace it? Is ther any compromise that will look good on both?
Thanks

All I can tell you is every AVI I have used to convert to SVCD has been Non-interlaced. But I am no expert on this subject. I am sure there are posts explaining the differences.
