I'm looking for a simple program that will let me cut half off a .mpg. I tried using Nero's cutting program but it says the file wont run correctly. I want to cut about a half hour off the end.

I would suggest the Merge & Cut function from TMPGEnc Plus, as it does not re-encode, I'm told. Select File--MPEG Tools...-->Merge & Cut.
