HI,
I got the following camcorder: MEDION MD 9014 And I would like to transfer the video (in any format you wish) to my Pc. Didn't found any guides without using a digital cam/dv recorder for doing the job, I got a ATI RADEO 9800 XT video card what should do the job.. only need a program that does it..
As you may read I'm a newbie with capturing but if any1 can give me the name of a program I think Ill sort it out..
So the question is, is there ANY solution capturing a hi8 videotape to your pc without using/buying/borrowing external hardware??
Thx in advance!

Thanks for your reaction, ok.. I made some advances I hope:
Installed Multimedia Center 8.8 for ati and newest drivers..
Now I get the sound directly through my speakers..
But if I select CAPTURE AVI in virtual dub I don't get anything yet..
So if you could explain, or gimme a tutorial for capturing analog hi8 with virtual dub or any other program, Id appreciate that very much

Allright, I got it sorted out now.. Finally get a streaming now, but in BLACK AND WHITE?? And the TFT screen on my camera is in color..
So what settings are recommenced in Virtual Dub to stream the file correctly...??? -
To make virtualdub capture work with my ATI AIW Radeon I have to first start the ATI TV application in MMC and then close it to initialize my card correctly and then I can start virtualdub and capture with colour.

Allright I see, aint got no time to figure it out now but I think that ll do the job..
Anyway, here's another problem... If I try to capture it with FLYDS, I do get color.. But no bloody sound, but I do hear the sound through my speakers when I just play it in FLYDS/Virtual dub..
After it's captured the sound is gone.. Is this an issue with my soundcard, do I get additional capture drivers or so???
Should be the last problem to solve, your help is appriciatedThx
