  1. Hi!

I am trying to find a way to encode subtitle in BMP format into MPEG2.
The subtitles are extracted from VOB and are non-EU, non-English, so srt or txt is no good.

Does anyone know how to do it ? Which encoding or authoring software is good for this ?

    Thanks in advance.

I found a webpage that covers how to rip the bitmaps from DVD and get WinSubMux format using SubRip.

That's odd--00 00 01 B3 is the beginning of the sequence header, which should be at the beginning of all MPEG video files. Are you sure you can play the video, saw with your DVD player program? Try creating a different piece of MPEG from an AVI that's at least 2 minutes long and see if you get the same error.

  9. same problem when copying the DAT-File from a NERO craeted SVCD. You can not use the MPG-File from the DVD directly. Try DVTool to fix it.
Unripping it with VCDEasy is also possible.

  10. Hi Matthias01, McPoodle!
Let me explain what I tried again.
With VOBedit , VOB--->m2v only mpeg
Tried to load m2v into WinSubMux, but it did not work. So renamed the .m2v to .mpg .
If this is bad, how do I convert .m2v to .mpg ?
This m2v file can be played with Elecard playe and ASUSDVD XP player, but not with WMPlayer.

Subtitles are extraced with SubRip from the same VOB.

  11. Hi Matthias01!
I tried to fix mpg with DVTool v0.53.
I am not sure how to do it.
I tried "Files" then select the mpg. Then "Split " ?
    This version is trial.
To fix it so that WinSubMux can process it, what operatopn is required using DVTool ? Do I need full version ?

  12. Hi! I found out that WinSubMux input mpeg must have audio.
The m2v I was trying had no audio. After remuxing ac3 with m2v, now WinSubMux loaded m2v(mpg) and embed sub bmps and generated no errors. But playing the output mpg no subs diplayed. I tries ASUSDVD Player and Elecard.
When extracting subs with SubRip, I specified that the subtistle is white and with black background.

    Any advise ?
