  1. Hi all,

I hope this isn't off topic but I couldn't find a more relevant topic for this:

I have Canopus Procoder 1.0.1.35 installed on my computer. When I try to uninstall it (in order to install 1.5) the uninstallation process starts then just hangs at 0% and stays there. If i try to install 1.5 over the old version I get a "there is an older version, please uninstall first" message.

I tried to look this up on Canopus support, other forums etc but couldn't find anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

    TIA

  2. one possibilty, mebbe -
if you have the earlier version's installation disk/file, load it and see if it provides an uninstall option.

a riskier move (IMHO) is to run the earlier version's INSTALL again right over what already there. Doing so may re-establish the necessary utility files required for a Windows add/remove procedure.

But, to do so is your call. Such a move could further complicate things.

the safe but slow way would be an email to canopus support...

  3. Hi, and thanks for the input. Unfortunately, tried all of the above but Procoder just laughs in my face. Installed over, tried to unistall from the source setup CD, tried Voodoo - nothing seems to work (as far as I can tell IKernel.exe hangs during the uninstallation process).

I'm considering breaking into the registry next and deleting all Canopus related keys but I'll probably end up destroying the existing version which - miraculously- is still working.

    Thanks again
