  1. First of all i am very new in film encoding and i hope you will be patient when you read this thread.
I have encoded a Divx movie to MPG by TMPGEnc and followed exactly what its given at the "How to..." section and then burned it by Nero to VCD. But the film in my DVD stand alone player shows it very terrible compare to what I can I see (as Divx format)on my PC, the pictures are like cubes!!! It can't be anything wrong with my DVD player cos its brand new and besides the DVD films which i rent at the video store plays nice.

One more thing.....In TMPGEnc under the "Load" i can't see the file "Videocd(PAL).mcf" how is that, where can I get it? I downloaded the TMPGEnc here at this site.

  4. If you played the mpeg full seen with msplayer and it's blocky, your vcd will also be blocky. Load the divx with vdub>>file>>file info, this should give you the bitrate and res. But your problem is unencoding divx and reencoding mpeg. Reconding loses quality.
