  1. I think I went about this the wrong way -- but, now is there a way to fix it?

I've backed up some movies using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode to just extract off the main movie. Now I have a bunch of VTS_01_x.VOB files and one VTS_01_0.IFO file. Simply creating a VIDEO_TS directory and burning such a layout doesn't result in a DVD that plays in any of my players.

I've tried using IfoEdit, but it creates a VIDEO_TS.VOB/IFO which I think I need, but the VOB is empty. When I use IfoEdit to do a Get TS Vectors, it gripes about an empty movie file.

When I try to invoke some of the other options in IfoEdit to recreate IFO files, it crashes on me every time...

So, I have a batch of movies that I've saved off using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode ... how can I now "re-author" a DVD that is of proper compliance? Getting the right bits burnt onto the DVD I can do .. I just can't get a decent VIDEO_TS directory with the right IFO files and VIDEO_TS.* files. Help!

DVD2ONE upto version 1.30 will trancode from ifo/movie only files to a directory you select on your HD.
IFOEDIT's create ifo files requires that the vob files be named VTS_01_1.VOB,etc,if you name VTS_02_1.VOB you will get an empty directory.

  3. Is that all you have to do with IFOEdit? "Create IFOs" or would you have to "Get VTS Sectors" too?

just use DVDShrink and select the title you want using ReAuthor mode

it will also reduce it to 4.37GB if you want, though you can use No Compression and then use something else to reduce it
