    I'm totally new to this converting/burning thing so please help me out!
    What difference does it make if i take an .avi-file and burn it as a svcd in Nero or if i convert the file in TMPGEnc and then burn it?

    The difference is that if you just drag the avi to Nero will Nero first convert the avi to mpeg SVCD and then burn it. If you first convert with TMPGEnc, will Nero directly burn the mpeg to SVCD.
