Hi
Im not sure if this is a nero problem or the files ive got are corrupted in some way. Ive only got a VIDEO_TS folder which is just over 4 gig in size.
When I try to use NERO 6 to burn it doing this:
New > DVD Video > Drag files into VIDEO_TS folder > burn
Then I have to tick "use multiple recorders" and then when I click burn I get to choose between my Pioneer 106 or a virtual drive for some reason. Anyway, once ive picked the 106 I get the following message:
"DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable. Do you want to continue?"
And so far ive not....
Any ideas what this means?
Cheers
Ash

I got a same problem and same messages. It is one of the vob file coruppted. If you continue to burn this image, you may not be able to read it or may be it will skip.
To verify the files, use DVDShrink to read and backup. If DVDShrink could not read and cache them, the original disk may badly damaged. Find a good one. -
@Vuphan:
I doubt that is the cause. File reallocation is when it goes through and checks that the DVD standard is met: ie. a VIDEO_TS and a AUDIO_ts folder, and that all the correct IFO, BUP and VOB files are present.
@Dr Ashcroft:
Try using Nero express (it is a lot easier to follow).
Go to new > DVD Video. Double click on the VIDEO_TS folder. Click Add. Browse to your VIDEO_TS folder. Right click on any one of the files > Select All. Click Add. Click Finished. Click Next. Click Burn.If in doubt, Google it. -
thanks for the replies, I stil get the same error message when i use the nero express method you suggested.
any ideas? -
Hi
Ive got:
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_02_0.VOB
VTS_02_1.VOB
VTS_03_0.BUP
VTS_03_0.IFO
VTS_03_0.VOB
VTS_03_1.VOB
Ive tried burning it using a method I found while searching on here using the DVD ROM (UDF) but this gave me a disc that my DVD player wouldnt recognise.
Im starting to think that these files are just knackered?

Ive installed it and then clicked 'open files' and it gives the following error:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
Failed to open "File path\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS_1.VOB"
The system cannot find the file specified
Knackered then? -
Seems you're missing the VIDEO_TS_0.VOB file.. you need that, I believe..
How did you 'create' the files, i.e., which compression or re-encode method/application? -
How did you produce these VOB files?

I have exactly the same problem. I have Nero and a Pioneer 106. If I use any version above 6.0.11 then I have the same error. If I write with DVD Video it also fails. Even if I accept the error and continue then the final result does not play. I have checked all of the files and they all seem to be ok. They play in Power DVD, Windows Media Player etc. DVD Shink can then process them.
I have tried to compress with DVD2One and DVD Shrink and get exactly the same problem.
If I try it with a working copy by saving to the hard drive and then trying to write back with nero without doing other work doing on it, it still fails. -
VIDEO_TS_0.VOB file isnt missing, the program that ripped the dvd files didnt rip them right causing that error, rerip with a different program and it will be ok then,i had the same error problem and fixed it by ripping with dvdshrink instead of clone-dvd 2.02.Use the original dvd to rip the files from, not the files giving you errors.

You could also click yes or ignore or whatever and try a burn.
I've had the message and the disk played. The risk of wasting a buck on a coaster wasn't enough to stop me from seeing if Nero was BSing me, and it was.
The only bad burns I HAVE made, Nero didn't object to anything..
Give it a whirl.

I have tried the suggestion of ignoring the message and it still causes a problem. One of my DVD players can play it, the other cannot, but if I downgrade to 6.0.11 and burn again (the exact same files), it burns without a hitch and plays perfectly in both players.
Ahead must have added something to the program to cause this problem but I cannon work out what. -
Don't worry about what it was. If you can now burn and play in both devices, pat yourself on the back and go to town.
Nero 5.5 used to give me the same crap with VCDs-SVCDs, I finally said ignore, because it always wanted to encode ITS way, another couple hours after 6 or 8 hours of DVD2SVCD. Disk looked and worked great.
This software ain't as smart as it thinks it is.
Cheers,
George
