Panasonic DMR-HS2 problems with Q-Link

I Recently purchased a Panasonc DMR-HS2 to record from Digital terestial TV but when i connect my SONY Reciever with SMARTLINK to the hs2 using the av2 socket the q-link function does not work. If i connect to av1 on the hs2 it works ok but leads to other problems as that socket is for the tv. Is this a fault with my unit or has anybody else had this problem.

I didn't know that Panasonic have this kind of function. Can you point me to correct part of manual ?

Q-Link and smartlink are the same thing. I should be able to set my set top digital reciever to start and stop recording on my hs2 and download prgramme titles. My Sony set top digital reciever has this function(SMARTLINK) and the panasonic has ("Q-LINK). this feature does work when i connect to av1 on the panasonic but not av2 as it suggests i do in the manual page 14 of dmr-hs2 manual. maybe the dmrhs2 av2 scart socket does not support Q-link or smartlink.?

Now I see... Your is EU (UK) version and I was reading US manual
