    is there software or anything that would allow me to convert a dvd from region 4 to region 1? i have a dvd burner, but not sure if i can copy the disk so that it can be read in our region or not - thanks in advance for your responses.

    i'm pretty sure you can take all region codes off with DVDdecryptor and DVDShrink.

    The disk can be ripped to your HD irrespective of the region coding.

    Read a guide or two for more help, there are loads on this site.

    You can backup your DVD with PINNACLE INSTANTCOPY whilst running AnyDVD and this will create a backup with NO macrovision and NO region protection.
