Looking to buy a good qaulity dvd player as my PS2 and xbox aren't cutting it as far as features and qaulity.

Been looking at the Samsung DVD-HD931 found here: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Y4xX4BOGT6c/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?a=&s=0&cc=01&g=54400&id=...o&i=305DVDH931

Seems like a very good dvd player, but i'm looking for anyone who has some of their own suggestions that I could look into.

  2. I'm of the el cheapo Apex camp. Less than fifty bucks, plays absolutely any and everything you throw at it, PAL, NTSC, whatever. It breaks, get another one. I have four myself.

I have also been interested in that Samsung HD931 that "supposedly" upconverts the picture quality to High Definition 720p or 1080 using a DVI connection. Does anyone have this player or has seen it in action? If so, how is it and is the picture quality that much better compared to your standard high end DVD player?

  5. Juicy, $199 if you can find one, Bravo:
    http://www.audiorevolution.com/equip/vinc/

"The Bravo D1 offers four different options for outputting through the DVI output signal including 480p, 720p and 1080i. 480p is the native resolution of the DVD format at 720x480. The three outputs allow the Bravo D1 to rescale the DVD format for output to match the native format of your plasma, LCD, DLP, DILA or LCOS display. This direct digital signal path allows the Bravo D1 to select a 1:1 pixel-mapping DVI output resolution that can match that of the display's native resolution. As simply defined as I can, 1:1 pixel-mapping is the process of matching up video-standard pixel resolutions to computer-standard pixel resolutions,"
