HI,
I am still fairly new to this VCD/SVCD lark. Learning fast though and getting to grips with a kinds of software to help me along.
I recently made my first VCD and found the quality of picture a little wanting. So, i started to read more and more on this page and assorted links.
Then I read about eh VCD Header trick whereby you could fool your DVDplayer into thinking it was playing a VCD while it was in fact playing a SVCD (which my DVD player normally does not support).
So, of i went. Got myself a SVCD .bin. opened it using the guides here and used TMPGEnc to trick my DVD player.
All went well as i checked whether it worked. I bloody well did. And the picture sharpness was much better then with VCD. Though no more of it until I wanted to watch some of it a little later.
I started noticing that the audio was lagging about 2-3 seconds behind the video. Rather like watching a badly dubbed chinese movie or something.
When played on my PC using normal playback software as a normal (untouched) MPEG2 the video did no show this audio lag.
Does anybody know whether this is a common problem with the VCD Header trick? Whether their is a solution and what that is?
I thank you all in advance for your help and this help teaches me somthing new every day so that in the (hopefully) nit to distant future I won't need to ask anymor, but will know exactly what to do on my own.
Thanks
Anvers
