    Ok I have an avi file but it does not play in my DVD player mine will play MPEG and someothers I think that I have not tried. Here is my question I got a converter and went from AVI 229 megs and when I went to MPEG it was like 1.02 GB how can you make it to where it will play on my DVD player and fit on a CD anyhelp would be GREAT!

    file size does increase going from a avi(divx) to mpg(vcd or svcd). did you use tmpgenc to convert to vcd? use the mpeg tools of tmpgenc and split the file into 2 pieces.
