  1. Hey guys, I've got one that has me stumped. I've got a bunch of small MPEG 1 (essentially PAL VCD standard files) with MP3 audio. They are 20 - 30 minute shorts broken up into ~2 minute blocks. I want to rejoin them and convert them to something that will play on NTSC. I'd prefer not to go through and demux, and do the audio conversion on each one, but so far I haven't been able to find anything that will join the files correctly. TMPEGenc locks up, MPEG joiner kind of works but some video freezes and no audio, Womble works best good video but garbage audio.

First, is there anything that would work directly to join such files? If not is there anything anyone knows about that will batch de-mux the files so I can process them?

Demuxing, converting and remuxing works fine so the files are all ok, just chunked up. I've got about 2 dozen of these shorts with 10 to 15 segments each so I really don't want to do them all that way.

Why not try the trial version of Video Studio 7? Just drop all your videos on the storyboard and save as whatever format you want.
    Hello.

  3. Actually, I think I still have a full version somewhere. Stopped using it because I didn't like the quality of mpeg. Still used for some avi stuff, but it crashed too much. I'll give it a try though, can't be more painful that what I'm doing now.

Would still like to know if someone can give me some ideas on batch demuxing or joining mpegs with unusual audio formats.

I forgot to mention above that I tried avisynth and VDub. File loaded and looked ok, but would lock up as soon as I touched much of anything.
