Hey everyone..I finally coughed up some money for the Dazzle Hollywood Bridge to start transfering some analog videos to dv. I noticed though...while using Adobe Premiere 6.0, after 20 minutes into capturing I get a message that I have reached the file max size limit.
I read up some what & learned that Dazzle says the limit on the size is from the Operating Systems on WIndows 98 & Me cause of FAT32. Yet, I have just installed a 60 gig slave (just for encoding..with 384 RAM). So...is there anyway (or patch) that I can do to be able to transfer a 2hour movie without having to break it into sessions??
Thanks alot for any future info,
David

If you don't want to purchase and change your operating system (which will overcome the 2GB limit) it's better to cut the movie.

if drive performance isn't an issue (doesn't seem to be if it's only encoding) you can get utilities that will allow you to create and mount an NTFS drive under win9x. by accessing the NTFS filesystem through a driver-level, it will be slower than normal, but won't have the 4 Gb limit. look for threads on NTFS, FAT32, and maybe "NTFS mount" or "NTFS reader". i've never personally tried this, so i can't say how efficient it is, but some of these are only about $30-40 i think so it might be worth it to save the hassle.
