What are some recommendations for a good video clip to use for a comparison of mpeg2 video encoder quality. I have already downloaded the clip from the BitRateViewer site and I think the quality is already flaky to begin with.
I don't think that starting from a DVD source would be a good idea because it would involve encoding already compressed video. Ideally I would like to download high-res, uncompressed AVI file (possibly 720x480 or even higher) taken from a HDTV source, of a program with fast motion, closeups, sand, water and snow. So maybe bikini beach volleyball with some snowboarding thrown in.
Anybody know of a good video clip to use?
I would make my own DV file to use, but I only have a single CCD DV camcorder that just really isn't good enough quality to consider.
Sorry for the long post, but I want to setup a site with results that i could keep updated when new versions of software come out.
EDIT: I think I found a good clip.. 1080i HDTV with snow lots of reflections, bouncy lights and hot japanese girls. But any more suggestions would be highly appreciated.
