Using my Sansui VRDVD4005 DVD-RW Recorder & VCR, I dub my home movies on VHS to DVD-RW in VR mode and then edit them.
Does anyone know of a stand alone DVD player that will play back these DVD-RS's after they're finalized, so that I can then input the signal back into the Recorder and record a DVD-R that will play in "most" DVD players???? Thanks in advance. Mike

hi MichiganMike, ..welcome to the forums :P

I may be wrong, but I recall reading a similar post about someone wanting
to transfer their DVD+R's to DVD-R's.. and the response back went some
    thing like this:

DVD Decrypter - ISO Read - - from your -RW disk
DVD Decrypter - ISO Write - - to your -R disk

    Good luck,

That sounds like an bad idea.... you will add too many extra conversions/loss into process. Convert mpeg2 in DVD Player into analog video, running it through cables (f.e. S-Video) and then converting analog back to mpeg2 in DVD Recorder. You should look into option of doing (creating) DVD-R on PC. Either just plain copy or make it more compatible, re-author it again. Result ? No additional loss at all.
