  1. I have made some private (i.e. non-commercial) DVDs compiling music videos shot by a friend (artist manager). The videos were exported from Final Cut pro 4 to DVD Studio Pro 2, then after the DVD was made we dumped everything from the computer due to lack of HD space. Now we would like to take a song (with video) out of the DVD (to give to the band members or to do a different compilation DVD). I have heard that OSEx can be used for extracting video and audio, but that the audio will need to converted with a tool like BD4GO. I have both OSEx and BD4GO. BD4GO is pretty straightforward (it looks like) but I haven't a clue how to use OSEx (e.g. settings) so I can use the result in FCP4 again to work with. Can anyone help me with step-by-step instructions and/or with other suggestions as how to accomplish what I'm trying to do? Thanks a bunch!

In your original DVD you compiled, did you put all the videos in a single video track, or did you keep each video as a separate track? If it's the latter, you can easily copy the VOB(s) for the track you want (you can easily preview the VOB files using VideoLan Client to play them back) to your HD, and demux it into the m2v video and ac3 (or dts or pcm or whatever you used) audio streams. I've found the tool Extractor to be the easiest one to extract streams from a VOB. If you mastered the DVD with all videos in a single track, you might need to use OSEx to extract a particular chapter you need, vith variable rates of success. In the future, remember to keep all discreet videos in separate tracks on the DVD for ease of reuse.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

Cinematize at www.miraizon.com also should do what you want.

per OSeX I plan to add a tutorial to my site on how to use it...
apparently it is a bit confusing to those who never used it before
