I made a VCD of Saving Silverman...encoding at 1850 video bitrate and 224 audio bitrate. The total mpeg file came out to 1.4GB. I used VCD Cutter to split the file which once place into Nero showed up as almost 750MB each file. I burned the first half then watched it to see the quality...everythign was running smooth until about 40 minutes into the movie...thats when the video was shifting and getting jerky.

Any one know why?...did I set my bitrates too high?....tried fitting too much on a single disk? I re-encoded at the standard 1150/224 and will see tonite if that was the problem, but until then anyone know?

  2. Hi,
I burned my first VCD today with Nero. It's a 725MB Band of Brothers mpg file, and I have the same problem playing it on my DVD player. It plays fine up until 40 minutes or so when the video gets jerky and sound gets out of sync. I burned it on an 80 minute Fujifilm CD-R.
How did you solve this problem?

I think the 40 min is just a coincidence, as far as your problem, and I'm not saying this will fix yours, but I use to have this problem on a couple of my players when I burned to fast, never repeated once I slowed my burning speed to 8x.
