I can encode the audio of my movie for CD use but not for DVD usage using TMPGenc. Why could this be? It is an avi clip with mp3 audio and these codecs divx and lame are installed. Before encoding them I can watch and listen to them fine on my pc screen. Where am I going wrong? Can someone please guide me in the right direction. Do I need some other sort of codec to encode DVDs different to that of CDS? Because that is how it appears. Look forward to hearing from you with. Thanks

rcb is right, encode the video only with TMPGEnc and convert your MP3 audio seperately to pcm (wav) or AC3. AC3 is smaller than pcm so you can raise the video bitrate higher. Drop your audio and video into your authoring package and away you go.

TMPEG cannot encode Mp3 audio in any template. You need to convert it to wav or mp2. Mp2(mpa) is the standard for VCD/SVCD and will work on most DVD players when used for DVD. Mpeg is not included in U.S. spec for DVD but the vast majority of DVD players will play it.
