  1. Hi,

after converting the avi to mpg2, and converting the audio to ac3 or mp2 after removing some audio hiss (used Goldwave to do that), I found that TMPG didn't like the new audio file, and would reject it ot says 'Illegal mpeg audio stream'. It'll take the original mp2 though, but not the converted one, even though the file size is the same.

I then tried bbmpg to multiplex the files. It takes both mp2 and AC3 no problem, but the resulting output has no audio. Using PowerDVD 5 to play back, and using the info option, it shows me the bit rate of the video, and that the audio is AC3, but the AC3 bitrate is zero.

    What am I doing wrong?

Both the modified AC3 and MP2 files playback fine on their own.

Also, how do you alter the audio within bbmpg if there's a lip sync problem?

    Any help appreciated.

    Gary.

  2. Quick question, did you try to mux your new sound file with the vedeo before editing it with Goldwave? (just to remove Goldwave out of the equation ).

I feel there must be a problem with your audio file. I have no problem merging a .m1v and .mp2 (48Khz) using TMPG. I use Simple Multiplexer and select MPEG-1 System (automatic).

    Hope that helps.

  3. Hi Eric,

    Thanks for your reply.

I did try multiplexing the original files, and it worked - I eventualy discoverd that BeSweet wasn't making the files (either AC3 or MP2) compliant, so neither TMPG or BBmpg would accept them.

However, converting the modified .wav to AC3 with ffmpg meant the file was compliant, and both programs now succesfuly multiplex.

So it looks like the culprit was BeSweet.

    Cheers.

    Gary.
