I recently purchased one from walmart for $296, saw they are now $248 at walmart online. Went to the store where they were still priced at $296. Asked the sales person if they could refund the difference, said no. Went to customer service and they to said no. Ask for the store manager and he said since I am a valued customer, ok, but this was against policy. Guess what happened when they rang it up, CAME UP AT $248. made me feel good, got my $48 back, even though they gave me back $49, didn't want to argue about it.(tax should have been more).
footnote for new buyers: Made 90 dvds from vhs tapes through video input, excellent quality. The unit seems to be a little weak on cable input, quality just good enough to keep it at that price. Was not good enough for my mother who I gave it too for Christmas, who uses a vcr many times aday. Will hook it up to my new tv and see how it does and will let ya know. I did take the first one back, poor quality, second one ok.
