OK here is my problem. What I need to know is there an easy way to add the subs before I join the 2 avi's. I use vdubmod to join the avi's so I can extract the ac3 and get my audio trac. The only way I can get the subs in my movie is to encode with TMPGEnc then join my 2 m2v files and then multiplex them with the ac3. When I do this I get what I want but the video says its only like 39 minutes long. So how can I get the subs in the 2 avi files before I join them so when I encode I get a m2v file that has the right time for the video? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx
One day I might get it!!!!

I've done a couple of those lately. With frame rate conversion to boot, but that's besides the point.
Start point: 2 AVI files (with AC3 audio) and 2 .sub text subtitle files
    My steps were as follows:

Load AVI part 1 in VirtualDub, make a note of # of frames.
    Append AVI part 2.
Save AVI (no audio) and Save AC3 (direct stream copy)
    Run AC3fix on AC3
Load 2nd .sub in SubtitleStudio. Add # of frames noted at step 1 as delay. Save
Load first .sub in text editor. Append 2nd sub. Save
Load 1+2 sub in SubtitleStudio and convert to srt.
Load srt in srt2sup. Save sup
Encode joined AVI to DVD m2v
Author m2v, ac3 and sup with ifoEdit.
