  1. Im having some problems with virtual dub,

Have just bought a new hard drive and reinstalled it.
I also have 2 films that im looking to convert however with the first film i keep getting the error message

"NO video frames found in MPEG file"

    What does that mean?

the second one has this message

"COuldnt locate the decompressor for format xvid (unknown)
Virtual dub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Direct show codecs such as those used by Windows Media player are not suitable"

I have downloaded and installed the divx pack which should and does include an xvid.ax file, so what am i missing here and where can i get it.

    Cheers chaps!

Use GSpot to find out what you need. You probably will need the XviD codec, and maybe the MPEG 2 codec as well. Hopefully GSpot will tell you for sure.

First of all, if 1 of your movies is already an Mpeg why convert to any thing else, your gonna loose quality and the resulting avi will look crap, unless the Mpeg is of high quality, even then you will still loose quality.

Second, you say you downloaded a Xvid Codec pack this wouldn't be the NEMO pack by any chance???.

If it is then your in for some serious trouble i'm afraid, your best bet would be to uninstall it if you can and download a proper XVID codec from www.doom9.org site.
