  1. Good day.
I have a problem. EVERY time I use TMPGEnc to convert I alwats get the dredded XP message ' TMPGEnc.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.' It happens before 25% of the conversion has been carried out. No matter what type of file I am converting I always get the same message. Up until last week I had no probem at all. Has anybody else had the same problem. I accept that this could be one of a multitude of faults but anyone who could throw any light on what I could check would be greatly appreacated. Many thanks in advance.
    Rad.

You may want to check the available space on your hard drives. Also you may want to reinstall TMPGEnc.

  3. i have had tjat prblem before but i know why it happened. it happened because the avi file had a bad frame and it froze on a particular part of the video, but the sound was still playing. maybe the files u r converting have bad frames and if so try scanning them for bad frames with a program which can fix broken avi files.

Good idea, Goku, however, he says he gets the error at 25% into the conversion no matter what file he is converting.

  5. Thank you all for the Replies. I have nailed it down further. It only gives problems when I convert .WMV files, not all file types as indecated earlier. Hope this helps a bit.
    Many thanks.
