DRU-500AX Firmware 2.0c to 2.0g a Disaster - Please Help

The 2.0c firmware ran as advertised. I bought Memorex DVD-R @4x & DVD+r @ 4x but the 4x-r's tilted. This forced me into an upgrade flash to 2.0g. Now I can't record anything except -R's at 1X. I can't burn anything else at any speed and get the following message:

Session fixation error
Could not perform end of disc-At-Once
Simulation Failed at 4x

I searched the forum and found others with the same problem but there were no solutions posted.

I ran the Sony drive diagnostics program and e-mailed the file and results to Sony and am waiting for a reply.

BTW - I have been faithfully visiting this forum for over a year and generally found answers. this is a great forum. My thanks and congratulations to all. I joined due to my frustration.

Please help if you can.

Firmware Issue is resolved. It wasn't the firmware. I had a cooincident drive failure.

I contacted Sony who looked up the results os the Drive Test. They indicated it was a hardware failure and issued me an RMA number. I am returning the drive today. They indicate a six day turn around. I had no problems what so ever.

We'll see what the new/refurbished drive brings to the table.
