  1. Doesnt look like anybody's posted anything like this yet, and I know its bound to happen, so why not

Now with new DVDShrink version 3.1 out:

Which would you use, Recode 2 or Shrink 3.1? Ignore the fact that one you have to pay for and that recode cant do copy protected disks. Just quality/speed-wise.

  2. Same author both are good. quality the same it uses the same engine.

I choose Shrink simply because it Decrypts and burns all in one.

  3. Recode 2 has my vote, for two main reasons.

#1: In Recode you can "Disable" a title by replacing it with a blank screen, which results in a much smaller file.

#2: I like the user interface of Recode better. I find the recode layout easier to work with.

Speed/Quality wise they seem the same to me.
I never use the decrypting function of shrink anyway so that wasn't even an issue.

Had to vote for Recode 2. Both are great apps, but the ability to disable video was always my most requested feature. Recode gave it to me. I think of it as DVDShrink+ at this point.
