I've recently discovered that VirtualDUB is running quite slow on my newer P4/2.8 machine compared to the second P4/2.67.

After looking at the CPU utilization while doing a DUB, I realized VirtualDUB utilizes only 50% of the CPU.

I am using version 1.5.10 under WinXP SP1 and with a HyperThreading CPU.

    Anybody else noticed this?

The only time I experienced something sililiar was when I was dealing with captures. Huffyuv and MJPEG to be specific. Normally VDUB isn't constrained by I/O performance, but with a 20 GB source it easily has I/O issues.

Try turning hyperthreading off, it doesn't gain you anything with VDUB, and it's probably the source of you 50% CPU utilization.
