I need a Menu making program.

Ok this is the first time I am making a menu and the first time I am burn something to play on my dvd player.

I have ready to go vcd anime eps. All I need is a menu program I have tryed so many and their all to hard for me this is what I need.

I just need a program what can do this

1. very very very very very easy to use
2. auto load up the menu when cd is in dvd player
3. I can use the arrow keys on my dvd controler so I can scroll down or up(since I will have 4 eps on a cd)or if that is too hard to make or will just come when I got the menu numbers will do fine
4.If I hit the root menu button it goes back to the menu

Thats it that all I want just that. I need a program what can do that I do not want to spend more then like 10-15mins on this.

Try Sonic MYDVD. It has a easy menu for DVD. My program came with my Sony camcorder.

1. well, what's your experience level? Photoshop is pretty easy, so is Paint Shop Pro. Maybe MS Paint is your speed.
2. Wouldn't that be a function of the dvd player, not the disc?
3. Check the VCD spec - is this possible? I thought VCD specifications limited you to number entry.
4. See #2 and #3 - is it supported in the VCD spec, and is it a function of the disc or the player?

Also, what software are you using for creating your VCDs? Does it not have menu capabilities in it already? How will we know, if you don't tell us what it is?

Well it is not the acutal menu I do not how to make it is how to get it to auto run. As far as I know I need something to tell it to start it up. Like it needs to know what to do so I am thinking I need to put some code or find something what can make it run. Because if my dvd player can handle that format and it should be able to able to load up that menu(if it works like you said you think it works as)

Nero can make the menu very easy just pop in the back ground put the name in your done but it does not auto load and go back to the menu. Also they should be able to handle it that would be a sad format if it could not do this.

Ya I found about that a little while that vcd can not handle with the scroll but that is not too important what I am looking for it how to get it to auto start up and go straight to the menu and some way to get back to the menu once your in the film thats all I am looking for.

Sorry if my little joke upset you. Do you see now that your statement about wanting to spend less than 15 minutes on this was pretty naive? That was the point of my joke. It's never THAT easy.

If you'll read the rules of this forum some time, you'll find out that it's best to do a little searching on your own 1st before asking questions which, to some more seasoned folks, are not only obviously answerable but also extremely impatient.

Sorry, now that I've gotten that off my chest, I'll get down off the soap box. It's just that this site gets mounds of these type questions daily and it's very tiring.

ANSWER: You can't program your DVD player to autorun VCD's. It completely dependent upon the (unchangeable) firmware of that particular model of player. But, if the VCD is authored correctly (VCDEASY and knowledge/experience), all you'll have to do to get it to play correctly will be to push the [PLAY] button.

Oh, yes. On more very important thing. It would be wise of you to refrain from showing your ungratefulness by ridiculing others.

Look at TMPGenc DVD Author, it has a simple easy to use layout and has preset menus that will let you do what you want, and in future you can also fairly easily create your own

The others suggested are okay, but are fairly limited in what they can do

Personally I'd go for something that isn't as 'point and click' I prefer to be able to have some control over what is going on, the others are too simple looking and make out that we are all idiots


My choice, and I've tried quite a few DVD authoring applications

DVD-Lab for simple/intermediate/advanced and very future proof authoring

TMPGenc DVD Author to get you started, and still be able to do authoring that looks acceptable and will do exactly what you are looking for

I agree that TMPGEnc DVDAuthor is very good, but hoho12 did mention in the 1st post that he had VCD episodes and was looking to burn CD (not DVD). Sorry.

Well now I have lowered my standards now all I want is something that can make it so that when I pop in the cd and it loads up the nero menu and I can use the root menu controll that all I want now what program do I need to do that.

nvm I found out that if your dvd player does not auto start it then you can not have that option with the vcd and vcds do not have root menu option.
