  1. Folks:

The tool "mplex" which is distributed with mjpeg tools doesn't complain when I try to multiplex MPEG-2 audio with MPEG-2 video, but won't let me put PCM audio with video.

I'm trying to get the video ready for a DVD and I want to include PCM stereo audio, which (according to the spec) is the lowest common denominator for audio on NTSC DVDs.

Is there some tool that will let me mux a PCM audio stream with MPEG-2 video?

  2. Your DVD authoring software should do this for you as part of the authoring process.

    Hi raswirsky,

Alternatively, you could use ffmpeggui to convert PCM (WAV) -> AC3 (192 - 256 kbps will be sufficient) as (I believe) AC3 is also a standard audio format for DVD's.

Might wanna check if it's OK for NTSC - I make PAL and it's OK on those...

Of course, as previously mentioned, your DVD authoring software should work with PCM.

    Hope that helps...

You don't need to and should not multiplex video and audio before authoring dvd.
This is the job of your dvd authoring app.
