I've got a 700MB AVI file that I've been trying to add subtitles to and I get them on there and everything goes fine until I goto encode it so they are perminate. If I encode it with the default VCD setting in TMPGEnc I get a perfectly good mpg but its about a gig now in size. I'm trying to keep it at 700MB so I only have to use one CD. If I use a KVCD template I don't get any sound with the file thats outputted. Any ideas?

Check the AVI file and make sure it is stereo. Once you have stereo, you can go back to KVCD. Or you can also use the wizard in TMPGEnc to make an XVCD, if your player can play them. And of, course, you can also split the video between two disks.
