  1. OK, i have a dvd backup that needs to be fixed kind of.Now there should be a full and wide version of the film on the disc, but the full version was removed by deleting the vobs and ifos for vts 4.Now how can i recreate a dummy vob,ifo and bup to go in place of vts 4 so i can keep the original disc's structure. ??

  2. Does your DVD have a Aspect Ratio menu? Read this guide by 2COOL. Also at the end of the guide, you should have your answer to your question.

I'd recommend capturing a short clip of Oprah or
George Bush giving a speech for a perfect dummy clip.

I would take something small, an AVI, MPEG, even a Image, take it into a DVD authoring software...DVD workshop, Vegas Video....something simple, you just want the VOB file.

But using that software I would create a small DVD and have the program write the VIDEO_TS folder to disc rather than burn it. Once created, go to the VIDEO_TS folder and get that VOB file and copy it or move it to the VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD that you need the dummy file in. You will have to rename it so that it is recognized by the IFO file, probably something like VTS_02_1.VOB, so you need to rename your VOB file as VTS_04_1.VOB just name it like the others, I'm sure you can figure it out.

Everything should be good to go but play the DVD from the folder in WinDVD to be sure...if it's NOT OK then you need to run IFOedit to correct the DVD structure. Make sure you check it again before burning it. I think that will work, I've done exactly what you are talking about but it has been a while. I don't think size of the file is important. I made mine using an image file, took it into premiere set it for 5 seconds in length, rendered it out to AVI then dropped it into DVD workshop and did exactly what I said above and mine worked fine.

  5. Sorry took a while too reply.

What if i copyed all the files to my hdd, but i also copyed vts 5 to a second folder and renamed it to vts 4, then copy it and past it in to the main folder, then using ifo edit strip all the streams and the vob id from vts 4, would this restore the file structure of the dvd as vts 4 and 5 are the same except vts4 was FS ??

@ Haku that wouldn't work as it would probably have a different structure

as DoubleShadowIce suggest I would just use 2COOL's guides along with my Flash guides and you will see how easy it is to remove a complete VTS using Ifoedit

  7. Its not the aspect menu im trying to mess with as that guide is for the aspect menu ..http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67564

The dvd is like this, vts_1,vts_2,vts_3,vts_5 and so on.VTS_4 is missing as it was the fullscreen removed. What i'm thinking is that some players may not play it, they may think its invalide, thats where vts_4 was just deleted , not stripped.or will it play ok ?

What about this guide .. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=60533 .. could i use this to create a blank vts set to replace vts 4 or does it not give a ifo and bup.

can you not just rip the IFO and BUP again from the original?

then you can use a blank VOB method and use 2COOL's guide to correct the IFO's

Actually the DVD should play just fine without the file...as long as when you play the DVD you do not select widescreen on the menu. I would rip the IFO and BUP for that VOB set but delete the VOB set if you don't want the widescreen.

I've done something like that before to save size but I can't remember what I did exactly, it's been a while.
