Hi all, ok i use TMPEg to convert my Avi's to MPEG so there ready to be put through an authoring programme, now i can do this no problem.
But i just got these new movies in Divx format but within 2 seconds of putting then into tmpeg (following Afronic's guide) the picture freezes, and nothing works i am unable to convert them>??, it used to work fine
Is there any reason for this? can it be fixed? is there any other programme which can do the job??

  2. You might need to force TMPG to use a particular reader/decoder for that AVI. Check in Option->Environmental Settings->VFAPI plug-in.

You can either change the order or disactivate some of the decoder/reader.

    Hope that helps.

I would suggest checking for bad frames first. Then use GSpot to make sure I had the right codecs. Finally, I would make sure Direct Show priority was the highest in the order.

Cool cheers guys, i tried that and still no luck, i even tried converting in Cinema craft but alas same problems.
I have the correct codecs it uses Divx 5.0 codec, i even tried converting a little bit of video half way through the movie and still same problem.
it plays fin on my player biffore conversion but after conveting it , it jumps like a broken record and plays the same bit of film over and over again.
all my movies are fine just these 5 which dont want to convert.
Any more ideas?? or is it possible someone has put something in the movie to stop them being converted????

Grab another short sample and try to encode with a different field order.
