  1. I have just purchsed a new Poineer 510 dvd recorder, i copy my first movie from satellite to hard drive then made a dvd copy of the movie. It will play on my old Apex dvd player and on my pc player but will not play on my Initial DVD-9510 portable player... this player says it will play any type of dvd. I recorder to a dvd-r. If anyone can shed some light on this for me i would appreciate it. ( I am the newest of newbies )

  2. This is the same problem on Panasonic recorder's with some DVD's. The problem might be some what different then the Panasonic one. What you could try is ripping the DVD to the PC And run it throw DVD2ONE thenburn it. Some time's DVD do not work on some DVD player's if there's no audio folder. I do not kow if Pioneer is putting the audio flder in but if it now then they this set.

    Second if that does not work Rip the DVD to the PC use TMPG DVD author. It will. Re-edit the DVD it will make one big MPEG 2 file then load that file back up to TMPG DVD author and make your DVD menu's and scene's. No the DVD will work. This fix does work for Panasonic user's.

    Also if you burn on DVD-RW you can use MPEG2VCR for video editting. When you burn on DVD-RW you can set it to burn one fiel so you can edit on the PC. Also some people ue ulead for editting DVD but I think for this stuff TMPG is better.
