I flashed my 104 with firmware version 1.41 and since then it will not read or write to DVD. The firmware upgrade seemed to go normaly,I recieved no warning messages and ended with the usual upgrade succeeded message. Any chance the drive can be used for DVD? It will burn CDR's normally. Anyone have any thoughts.

I can only find firmware version "1.40" on pioneers website. Was this hacked or beta firmware that you used? Maybe you should try the 1.40 version of the firmware to see if the DVD starts working again...

Clean the laser.
I'd suggest www.dvd-recordable.org for 104 firmwares, not firmware-flash.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
