  1. I just got one today, installed it in the computer installed the drivers etc.. but when I go to capture in virtual dub the card is listed as installed and everything I plugged my VCR in but all i get is a blue screen, anyone else had this problem?

EDIT:After reading abit abut this it seems I may have connected my VCR to my PC wrongly.

On this picture (sorry for the blurryness) i connected the end on the left to my capture card and the one on the right to the line out on my VCR, is this correct? Is the cable in the pic even the one I need?

  2. Start the WinTV application, switch it to the channel or input source that you want so that you see it properly in the WinTV application. Then quit that and fire up VirtualDUB capture and see if it works.

I also have this card. Do you have the input setting set to (vcr or alternate), NOT TV?One program I found that I could capture with was Ulead's Video Studio.

I have this card as well. I remember the cables I used were yellow video cables for video. One end plugged into VCR video out, and the other end plugged into WinTV GO video in. In Virtual Dub, the capture setting were set on Video-->Video Composite.

  7. Something looks weird about the connector on the right in your picture... but maybe it's the blurriness. The two ends of that cable should be identical- from composite out on the VCR to the composite in on the card. You'll also need a sound connection- but that goes from the audio out of your VCR to the inputs on your computer's sound card.

Alternatively, you could use a regular coaxial / antenna cable and use the WinTV's onboard tuner and the little patch cable from the WinTV to your soundcard for the audio it generates, but it doesn't seem like that's what you're trying to accomplish.

Give us some more details and definitely focus on just getting a picture and sound in the WinTV application before you move on to VDub.

I agree, his connectors look like SDF connectors (common in Europe). That is why I mentioned the yellow video cables in my post. And yes, even though the TV Go card does have an antenna connector, video captured from it is not the best available to him.

  9. My VCR only has RF in and RF out and the cable I thought would work doesnt fit the RF out, anyone know what cable I need?

  10. Sounds to me like you'll need a threaded coaxial cable to run from the VCR RF out to the similar type of connector on the back of your card. It's probably the same cable that you're running from your VCR to your TV to watch your videos on TV.

What VCR is that? I thought even the earlest models had Rf and RCA connectors.
