    I have just got this medion dvd writer, but the medion web site does not tell you anything.
    I installed it in my system and put in the burning software, it tells me it is a pioneer 160d, but with nero it tells me it's a pioneer 106d.
    Can anyone help me please,as i want to upgrade the firmware.

    Could it be a pioneer 106d by any chance?

    Why upgrade the firmware? If it works it works.
