Does anyone know if the hardware is the same between the X.10 and the X.100? If the two have the same hardware then I might only concider buying the X.10 version. But if they are not the same then what makes the card in the X.100 better than the X.10?

They are different. Suggest you go to the Matrox website for the detailed descriptons. I have the RTX-10, which IMHO, is a great card. The major incremental features of the RTX-100 over the RTX-10 are (1) hardware MPG capture; (2) real-time DV rendering; (3) real-time hardware MPG encoding from your captured DV; and (4) more special effects. Whether its worth the extra cost depends upon your needs. For mine (mostly editing of home video), I couldn't justify the doubled cost. Hope this helps.
