  1. antec built an orignal case which lots of makers such as chieftec and chenming have used as a base for theri cases.

  2. All wired up, it is a beast to say the least. Loads windows in 3 seconds (bare in mind I have no programs on it yet though apart from a few games). All went fine, could not believe how easy it was.

One suprising thing though the plextor cd writer was broken from the start

I think that might be an updated one but that looks remarkably like my Cheiftec Scorpion case.
These sure are a great case, I doubt I'll ever buy another (until PC's fit on the head of a pin, that is).

EDIT: Just read all the thread, I got mine from overclockers too Craig, we must have the same case.

More than likely, mine is a Chieftech Scorpio TX-10SLD (silver) With a nice little OKUK badge on the drive cover.

  5. Just conned the missus into buying me one of these

    and a 200gb Maxtor Diamondmax.

Are these good, reason I got one is I openend my old pc the other day and I was amazed at how hot it was. This drive is going to be for all (or the majority) of my dvd backups.

Do you lot rate them ?

The one piece of advice I give everyone building a new PC is never Never NEVER! force the cpu into the socket. If it is lined up properly it should just "Drop" into place, if it doesnt it either isn't oriented correctly or has bent pins. if it has a few bent pins on the outer edge you can insert that edge first but if it's really badly bent send it back for a replacement. they are really easy to break if you try to straighten them.
