  1. Hi world,

While using the DVD Decrypter to burn, I get the following error; Here is a screen shot .

I used Decrypter to decrypt and then used it to burn also(single layered DVD). Now I have done this number of times on my Sony DVD Burner 510UL using FujiFilm Media. Recently, I purchased the COMPUSA brand(They are Princo) and I have had nothing but grief so far. Three coasters out of 3 so far. Two using the DVD Decrpter method and one using the COPYTODVD software.

Is this particular error due to the media or is this something wrong in the file. Any help would be more than welcome.

    Thanks

  3. Is there something I can tweak with to burn this lot of COMPUSA media.

Now the funny part is that I bought 2 of these discs first to test it out. Both these worked without any problems!! Thats why I ended up buying a pack of 25. But I am having problems with these. Is it possible that the discs are of different makes.

Out of a spindle of 25, you may have 20 good ones and 5 coasters. Or they may be all good, or all bad. It's the inconsistency that makes them a bad buy. They are ok for data storage tho...so it's not a total loss. =)

The first commandment of dvd burning is...
Thou shalt not be frugal when purchasing dvd media

Stick with name brand media like Ritek, Maxell, TDK etc.

  5. Good advice about using cheap media but you might try the latest DVDDecrypter(3.1.9.0) or set the write speed to 2.4x.

  6. Bodene, your commandment is well appreciated. The funny part is that I bought 2 of these discs first to test it out. Both these worked without any problems!! Thats why I ended up buying a pack of 25. But I am having problems with these. Is it possible that the discs are of different makes.

And yes, I will try with the new DVD Decrypter version as well. My write speed is set to MAX, media is 1X ,so can I set the speed to 2.4 X?

    Thanks..

One other thing that many folks forget regarding cheapo media....is that even tho it does burn ok and you can watch it just fine......6 months later the cheapo dye may degrade to the point where the video won't play on anything.

Imagine transferring priceless videos of yer kids or your last visit with yer grandfather before he passed away from video to DVD....only to have it go to sh*t within months.
