Hi guys,
I've just got my Philips DVDr70 through and have noticed that the pixelisation is fairly obvious in all recording modes other than M1. Is this normal?
My TV reception isn't perfect, it is a little grainey, would this affect the pixels?
Many thanks in advance for any help!

Yes, this is one of the flaws of digital video. If there is some noise in the picture, the recorder will often interpret the noise as details in the picture, thus wasting valuable bits for nothing.
The only suggestion I can offer is to try replacing the incoming cable (if possible) with a higher quality one, which can often lessen the noise. -
hi,
i have had this recorder for about 5 months, i only ever notice pixilization when i record in 6 hour mode, but even then that is barely noticeable.
