  1. Hi all and thanks for previous advice.

I encode a divx avi file to a VCD without problem using tmpgenc plus. I split the sound and video first and check for errors with Virtual dub 1.5.10 before processing (no errors found). The process goes fine, but the vcd freezes in my sony 315 player about 18 minutes in. This process has worked before a number of times. The only thing that I can think is different is that g-spot tells me the avi file is MPEG-4 rather than MPEG-3 before running it through tmpgenc. I can watch the AVI file on my pc without any problems.

    Any advise?

  4. my bad, it plays just fine in my CD-rom in my pc.

VCD-gear lists the bit rate as a straight 1150 as it should. divxrepair finds no errors in the avi and vcdgear finds none in the mpg.

Try some different disks, maybe a CD-RW. Try burning at a low speed like 8X.
