  1. Is there a difference in quality for the white labels as opposed to shiney silver or matte silver labels? I noticed on supermediastore.com lists the white labels as "general use". What does that mean? I'm just gonna be writing on the disk with a sharpie rather than printing them so in that case the white label would be better, but not if it's a different quality. I think even the matte silver would be fine if it is equal as well.

Newegg has a good price on Ritek 50 pk for 49.99 and free shipping but nothing in the ad specifically states that they're G04's, which I know I want for sure.

I know there's much debate here about whether there are different grades of Ritek disk. I ain't tryin' to open that can of worms in this post.

    Please enlighten me.

    Thanks!

I can't speak to the quality difference between the white and silver Ritek G04's, but I would imagine they are of the same quality. I just bought some white ink-jet printable ones G04's from Rima.com, and I'm hoping that they are of the high quality that most people boast about. The "general use" that they are referring to is meant to differentiate it from "authoring use" (which I believe is primarily used if the disk is going to be replicated).

  3. You know, I believe you're right about the "general use" thing. I had completely forgotten about the "authoring" disks.

    Thanks!

I've bought 2 spindles of 50 from Newegg. 1 coaster out of 65 burns so far. The edges look like hell, but they burn and test great, and my 2 standalones don't have issues with them. My Operite standalone is very picky about media, but loves RITEK G04's.
