  1. Does putting labels on DVDs cause problems? I am assuming everyone will tell me not to use labels on DVDs. I wanted to ask anyways. I have read some articles that said it is not recommended, however I have not had a problem. I have started video taping weddings and I didn't want to give my customers something that would end up being a problem. Does anybody have any recommendations on what type of media printer I can get and where to get it for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance for your help!

  2. number of posts that say good and bad. Have you read the comments on this board about it (you just mentioned articles, not from where).

I am converting peoples' home vhs to DVD for them. Instead of a full label, I am using hub labels. Everyone has been happy with the result.

There are dvd printers out there, but if you have the time, there are some guides that you can use to convert an existing printer into a dvd labeler.

You may want to read through the stickied post at the top of this forum. It has to do with the woes of labeling.

I don't have any suggestions about media printers myself but there is a thread here about printing directly on disks, the printers used, and the results.

I know I saw a thread the other day (not sure if it was here) about modifying a cheap Lexmark printer from Walmart to print directly onto DVD disks. I'll look around and see if I can find it.

Yup it's in the guides section. There is one for a Lexmark, and one for older Epsons.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  5. Can someone please help me out? I am currently using Memorex LabelMaker for my DVD labels, and the program is awful. I can not get the alignment correct. Does anyone out there have a microsoft word template for the memorex style cd sticker sheet? Please let me know if you do. Thank you very much!
