  1. I am trying to use the VCD header trick in TMPGEnc to multiplex an SVCD MPEG2 file to MPEG1 (file >> MPEG Tools >> Multiplex). After the process reaches 7%, the indicator bar shoots to 100% and the coversion is said to be completed. However, the newly outputted file is only a few minutes long (because the process did not complete in actuality).

The original SVCD file plays fine...and so does the new file, although it is truncated. How can I ensure that the multiplexing process goes through to completion?? This has never happened to me before.

I've had something like this happen before. What I am about to suggest may not work for you but it did for me.

Try demultiplexing your file and then re-multiplex the m2v and mp2 files. Then try the header trick on the newly created file. I know it sounds like a pain but it might be worth a shot.

  3. I tried your suggestion, but I'm running into the same problem. The process works until 7% and then finishes abruptly.

Any other suggestions? There must be something I can do to save the file, since it works perfectly.

Did it de-multiplex fine? I had another problem where I just needed to decompress the mp2 and than convert back again using Besweet.

Hey, check out this thread. Not the most pleasing solution but it'll work.

Nope, same problem. Tryed demultiplexing with TMPGEnc and it went to about 7% and then finished.
