Using the "Write DVD" option of the DVD Writing Tool requires that you point the Target Path to the root directory of the DVD file structure (but this can't the root of a Hard Disk), so create a new directory on your HD as say 'DVDProject' and move your VIDEO_TS directory into it.

Now set the target path in DVDAuthor to directory 'DVDProject' and you should be OK.

  3. hmm...

when dvd shrink created the files, there wasn't a video_ts directiory, just the files...

i put all the files into a folder named video_ts, and it still didn't work...

i think i already tried what you said

The folder has to be named VIDEO_TS.In capitals.Next time you use dvdshrink make sure it points to this folder when you start the backup.

Yes - that's a bit of a trap - you should always point SHRINK to a directory named VIDEO_TS, and as 'johns0' points out it must always be in upper-case.

  6. ok, i did that before, made a folder called "VIDEO_TS" and put all of the files in it...

it acted like it was a dvd, but it froze up my player everytime

Maybe you should read the how to guide on author to the left to get a better understanding of the dvd author to burn methods.

That sounds either like a burning problem or you may be missing some files in the VIDEO_TS directory.

I tend to always test the DVD structure before burning. In my case I use IFOEdit to load the IFO files in the VIDEO_TS directory, then use the DVD Play option to test the menus and navigation. If it's OK I then get IFOedit to write a DVD image file, and it's this image file that I burn to disk. I get 100% success rate this way - no surprises.

I would suggest that you do something similar to test the results of DVD Shrink and the contents of the VIDEO_TS directory. You may need to do the shrink step again to get a clean result.

You also may need an empty AUDIO_TS directory. Look at the directory structure of your original DVD. The copy should look the same.

Just go into the VIDEO_TS folder. Create a new VIDEO_TS folder. Drag all the files into the new folder and burn. Works for me.
