Retro fit a earlier firmware on Plex 708?

Just so I dont screw things up. Is it possible to backtrack to an earlier firmware version. I upgraded my Plex 708a to 1.04 and nero 6 now makes coasters with the Memeorex +r's. I use to burn them at 8x and now Nero will not pass 99% and hangs. The plextor site states that any firmware after 1.02 can not be retro fit to earlier versions. Anybody done a retro fit of earlier version of a firmware on the 708a. Is it possible. 1.02/03 worked fine, either 1.04 or Nero 6 is now causing prob's.

Which version of NERO 6 do you have?

Nero 6.3...but it seems to work now that I completely uninstalled and un-register all AHEAD in regstry and folders and reloaded Nero 6.3 twice. But it seems to only burn my Memorex 4x discs now at 4x when it use to burn them at 8x. Nero says 8x but it takes ~15 min so it seems to be burning at 4x. Well at least its no longer making coasters.

Still wondering if is possible to retro fit previuos versions of firmware on the Plex after 1.02 tho

I did it without really thinking about it, but everything is working fine. So i think it could be done.

Well I retro fitted 1.03 and it didnt make any diff in burn speed. Reloaded 1.02 and will experiment some more to see if the Plex will do 8x. So you can retro fit the earlier firmware on the plex 708a. Now let see if its a Nero 6.3 prob.
