  4. Plz

i cant get it right. Why?

    i use this settings i srt2sup:

This sup is a orginal sup used in the orginal movie. I did demux it using VobEdit and then load it into SupRemap and also load the orginal ifo file.

This sup is the one i did created using srt2sup. I did load it into SupRemap and changed the numbers (still using the orginal ifo file).

This is how my subs is showed in PowerDVD...

... and this is how the original is showed.

The both are one the same dvd. I havent changed dvd w/ captured the pictures. How does it comes that the org. sup is correct but not the ones that i create?

    Plz help me

  5. Gandalf(srt2sup),
finally had time to test the new supremap.
Wonderfull man, works like a charm as far i can see no bugs any more no more skipping lines.Good Job.
Now the only problem that resides is how to author back NTSC Movies.
Because ifoedit can't handle NTSC that well.PAL works great though.
This has been a known problem for a few months now.As far as i know there hasn't been an author tool that 100% can handle NTSC movies out yet.Maestro would be the only option left, but then i have to replace all the subtitles because it can't handle remapped sup files.
I did try ReJig, looks promising but still buggy in author mode.

    @ USiT
    I would suggest in srt2sup:
    Backgnd: Silver (trans)
    Outline: Black
    Text: White
    Alias: Black

  6. Hi USiT,

The image you showed and the snapshots from SupRemap are matching!

I can fix this for you in words (see later) however if you complete the 3rd part of SupRemap and parse a VOB file from the original DVD this will show you that your SUP and VOB do not match and this is why your subtitles are different!

Once you have parsed a VOB file you can remap the SUP file to match it or you could change the SUP file settings, but your subtitles in the VOB file will then be incorrect!

To make your subtitles match the original use:

    Background : red : 0
    Outline : black : 15
    Text : white : 15
    AnitAlias : silver : 15

Also when your create the SUP file you MUST NOT have the background and the text colour the same in Srt2Sup otherwise you will fall foul of transparent text (please see my homepage)!

  7. thx alot srt2sup and Realness.
    It works greate now... almost

I did copy the files that IFOEdit did create after renaming them to the correct movie name. The structur was in a way so that the movie was on VTS_05_**.vob and so on. W/ playing in PowerDVD the movie works greate and the subtitles does show greate but wene burning it and play it on the dvd the problem starts. He plays 2 seconds of the movie then he stops until u press the Next chapter button, then he plays 2 seconds and stops. But the subtitles are fine. What can be the problem?

    USiT

I will not give up until i have make this work 100% and as you haved figure im a n00b on this.

  8. Hi,

I am afraid this is beyond my knowledge, the only possible idea from me is the good old media quality!

Have you used this media before without problems?

This is the only idea I have!

  9. Can anybody tell me how to sync avi to subtitles *.txt (microDVD) from 23.97 to 30 fps. I want to convert them to *.sup file and create DVD. I have been looking for other guides but non of them works for me. I'm using Subtitle Workshop and SubtitleTool with no luck.
    Thanks

  11. Srt2Sup,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for SUBREmap!!!!!

I was having a subtitle problem (im not relisting it here, but this was the post)
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=826486#826486

and then later on i was doing some searches and found this one. Well i dl'ed SUBREmap and i basically ended up copying the RGB color numbers that maestro was giving me for the 2 subtitle tracks i was working on. And now thanks to your program i have both subtitles in both of their original colors (one was yellow, the other was white). THANKS AGAIN

I was using subrip for my subs. I took the ifo file form Maestro and opened it in your program and worked with it that way

  13. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe

I want to thanks my mom and dad for this Oscar.

Finaly i think i have found the problem w/ freezing movies. Thanks Google.

After searching in Google i did find this in Doom9 homepage.

    Doom9

The problem seems to be that IFOedit dosnt support NTSC movies, and because of that the movie freezes for about some seconds w/ a subtitle is showed.
In the topic they are saing that using ReJig the problem should be fixed.
I will trie it out and let you now.

    Hold your thumbs for me.

  14. Hi,

You could try using ReJig instead of IFOEdit, however some people have reported that Srt2Sup .SUP files do not work in ReJig!

  16. UTi, i have similar problems...
i followed this guide, and thanks to your posts and srt2sup help i managed to get the rigth colors on my movie, even with the original menu. it played fine from my HD, so i decided to burn it. once i played it on my standalone player, the subs only appeared twice at the start of the movie, only showed when in slow motion and i had skips between chapters. I still cant figure out why, will try with a different media monday.

IFOedit dosnt support NTSC vidoes (taken from the doom9 forum).
If you are going to use a NTSC video you have to use ReJig.
Take a loock at this link

  18. i did:
1.- copied dvd to hd with dvddecrypter
2.- vobedit to demux all files
3.- add the subs already converted to sup format and with the rigth colors using srt2sup and supremap
4.- remux with rejig (using the m2v, ac2, sup and celltimes files)
5.- take the new vobs and place them on the original files folder, overwriting existing ones....(keeping original ifos-bups and original menu vobs)...
    6.- burned to a dvd

i did all of this, but i get "chapter" problems, i press next on my dvd player or reach the end of the chapter i get back to the begining of the chapter...in a continuous loop
any ideas on what i'm doing wrong?

I dont know if this is the answer but.

Did you selecte the right format in the CellTime list?
If you are using a NTSC CellTime file you have to select NTSC.
    Quote Quote
  20. yes, i did select NTSC
today i tried again, and did something i saw on doom9 forums:
You also need to strip/keep everything with IfoEdit after this last step. Open VTS_05_0.IFO, click on VOB Extras, select Strip Streams, Correct original IFO's and Auto Copy Menu files to destination, check ALL streams and Correct IFO Tables, save to another directory. After VOB files are processed drag all your newly created files back to the original directory or alternatively drag all missing files from the original to new directory, open any IFO and click on GET VTS Sectors.

now, only the first chapter gets stuck!
    all the rest play fine
    i must be getting closer...

  21. I hope somebody is able to help me with the problem I'm facing:
-I converted my sub using srt2sup
-I used IfoEdit and I multiplexed/authored the DVD.
Everything is looking fine, but when I play it on a standalone DVD player, the sub is moving a little up and down, so hard to read. The movie itself is steady. It happens while the sub is displayed, even when I press pause when the sub is on screen, it shakes, and the video is just paused and calm.
The movie is Pal (25fps) so IfoEdit should be able to handle the file..

Please help, what should I do?

  22. ok, i 've been doing everything all over and over again, and im getting at this point:
when i play the movie, it gets stuck after a few seconds of playing the MAIN movie. if i skip to the next chapter, and rewind to the start of the frst one, it's all ok. the subtitles show ok through all the movie, except for this "hang" while playing the first chapter. i think that it could be something .ifo related? it even corssed my mind that it could be this particular movie that's having trouble (Spun) , so i'll try with another one....

    any help would be appreciated

  23. i've done this all over and over again, and im still getting "freeze" while playing the first few seconds of chapter 1 (then it skips all of a sudden to chapter 2), but being able to rewind from chapter 2 and it plays ok...with all menus and susb working fine.
when i demuxed, and then remuxed, the movie had one subtitle file, which i REPLACED with the one on my language... could it be that the problem? because if i kept the original one, and added mine on the remuxed, it goes ok but i cant choose my newly added subs. i tried to increase the "number of sub-picture streams in VTSM" with ifoedit under VTSI_MAT, but still no work :/

    any further ideas?

    Hello everyone.

Trying to fix this subject with ReJig 0,5, but it seems I probably do something wrong.

When I start to multiplex movie, sound and sup-files, everything seems to be ok. But: First the vob-files becomes very big, over 3,5 GB. Why not 4 vobfiles?
When it´s all finished, the vobfiles gets very small....

    Pls help

  25. Hello

Can anyone tell me if there's a way to improve the quality of the subtitles when using srt2sup ? Although the size of the original sup files on a DVD and the sup files created by srt2sup are the same, the quality of the sup files created by srt2sup is lower. The subtitles don't look very smooth, but readable.

    The settings I use are:
    Background = Silver
    Outline = Black -> 2
    Text = White
    AntiAlias = Black
    Font = Arial
    Font style = Regular
    Size = 15

The quality of the subtitles on the picture in the guide look very good, but that's not the way I get them.
The 'u' looks more like this:
It doesn't matter whether I watch the movie on the tv or on the computer.

    Thanks

  26. Hi,

The rendering engine I am using in windows seems to give these poor results.

Using a good quality font and the Antialias in a4.03 does help.

I am looking into other rendering engines for my next version.

  27. This is my first reply to this forum so...

YOU ARE ALL LOSING THE POINT OF THIS TOPIC.
The original topic was `How to add subtitles to the original DVD` and this became the SRT2SUP forum.

Please, GET BACK to the point.

Now, after a lot of wasted time I realised that there is almost NO WAY to add a homemade subtitle to the original DVD (keeping the original menus and extras). 99 percent of the DVD`s will then ACT A FOOL. Just try to enter the menu and select a original subtitle... and lose any chance to select your own...

Tried to replace English subtitle with my own (even renamed it in the demuxed sub as the original) in order to select it from the menu... NO WAY... Finally, I gave up.

So, my DVD`s have ONLY video&audio&mySUB and they play as autorun.

This was not so easy to accomplish, so I decided to share my trick with You guys. Video&Audio... no heck... but subtitles...

In order to get the colours You selected, COPY the color palette from the original IFO, paste it to yours, and then ADD the hexadecimal code for the first 4 colours manually.

This trick helped me, and for the first time had the colour settings I wanted.

So, get back to the original topic. Is there any new tool that may help us KEEP THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL DVD with our homemade subtitle.
Open your mind and maybe someone will tell you what`s inside.

  28. Hi,

A much easier was of setting subtitle colours than all this copying and hex editing colours is to use my SupRemap tool.

  29. Thanks for your reply, that is the sign this forum still lives, but...

I tried Supremap but got confused somwhere in the middle of the job...

Nevermind, we all have `easier` way to do something... aren`t we.

Still no answer to my question `How to add subtitles to the original DVD`s?`

    New tools

    Grrrrrrrr

  30. Hi,

Not quite sure here, did you get confused or did SupRemap get confused (ie a bug!)?

If you got confused, explain the problem and I will have a go at helping!

If SupRemap got confused then explain the circumstances and I will look into it!
