  1. sometimes i'll notice that the audio is slightly off with the movement of the lips, but most of the time it's ok. i verified this on 2 players that i have. but when i play the encoded file on my pc with powerdvd or pop in the disc into the cd-rom drive, in the same scenes the audio matches up fine. so i'm wondering then, is this a normal thing with playing movies burned yourself on dvd players and that others have come across?

    Hi hyena77,

You don't specify whether it's a VCD, SVCD, DVD etc. disk that you're referring to so I'll comment on my experience, if it's any help...

I started out making SVCD's and was getting constant audio lagging video when played on my Toshiba SD220e DVD stand-alone player. Turns out it was the player (see comments under the player's review on this site for details) when combined with the (common) software I was using to create the SVCD (VCDEasy).

I now make DVD-R's from home DV AVI and have no problems.
